Louisa McDaid

Based in beautiful Edinburgh, I am a professional Theatre Captioner, Live Captioner and Lipspeaker, providing communication support to the Deaf community since 2004.

A graduate of the Universities of Glasgow and Stirling, I am registered with NRCPD (The National Register of Communication Professionals for Deaf and Deafblind People) and The Scottish Register of Language Professionals with the Deaf Community (SRLPDC). Further information on the standards that NRCPD registrants work to and the NRCPD Complaints Procedure is available here.

I hold Level 6 British Sign Language and a Level 2 certificate in Deafblind Communication.  In 2016 I delivered the Signature Notetaker Endorsement course, which provided a route to registration for Electronic and Manual Notetakers whose qualifications had expired.

I am a member of the PVG Scotland Scheme,  hold DBS and Professional Indemnity Insurance and am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office Data Protection register.
