Captioning can be delivered scripted, unscripted ("live") or semi-scripted.

As a level 6 signer, I have some experience of provided scripted captions for theatrical productions where actors deliver dialogue in BSL, and also live captioning for deaf intralingual BSL interpreters in a variety of professional settings.
